Joey Krug

Since we had done so much reminiscing last Friday, it made me wonder about the local band we worshiped in the 70's... "Limousine". Little Joey Krug, not too talkative, eye candy guitarist from Topeka KS, the guy with long black hair down his back and ebony lid liner, that we girls ogled many a weekend.
"Limousine"--cursive and spelled with 2 tilted stars instead of dots...in art class and on our notebooks, we perfected that logo over and over again. It seems that Joey Krug does still jam in a band, maybe called "Warlok"? opening for acts like "Black Oak Arkansas". Aaahhh... The Jolly Troll in Holton KS; had heard it reopened... could it be the same exact bar(n) and open-air dance floor that I remember???

I've never heard of Limousine but I can can almost guarantee you I was the only kid in Port Moody, British Columbia that had a Black Oak Arkansas record... Street Party was one of my first albums. The critics hated them and none of my friends "got it" but I was a huge fan... hilarious...

I cannot remember if the guy with waist-long hair that let me rub my hands all over in it...was from Black Oak...or Blackfoot. God.

I just found this article this morning. Thanx for the kind words. I also think about all of the great times I had back then. October 8 was the 25th anniversary of Limousine's last gig. A good friend is trying to persuade the band to reunite to do about 10 shows next summer. That would be very interesting. Here's an update on what's happened with my music then and now. Limousine played from 76-83Warlok played around NE Kansas in 84-86. I moved around the country, working a good job from 87-2004. I then moved back to Topeka, reformed Warlok, playing mostly the same songs from 20 years earlier, mainly 80's metal. It has been a blast and we still do an occasional show with great crowds. I live in Seneca now, hoping to move again soon. I played 30 shows this year with 12 Years Coming, but they fizzled out due to the "We can't run with the big dogs syndrome." I found a few people at many of these shows that were Limousine fans. Now that the monster has officially awoken, I am going to get serious and start playing a lot more. I jammed with a band last Sunday, and decided we may be hitting it hard ASAP. Our name can't be let out yet, maybe in December. We will have original material and lots of metal(hard rock), like Metallica, Judas Priest, Disturbed, Black Sabbath, Godsmack, Dio, Prong, and much more. Sounds kinda like your music preference, eh? Please check out my page at myspace.com/jkrug30 and say "hey." I'd like to keep you posted on future shows. Take care and keep up the good work on your page, it is very cool. Sorry to ramble on for so long, LOL.
